seconded - I watched the first episode on tv-links the other day, and even the 'classic, he's dead, everyone's dead dave' scene was a complete cringeworthy let down

A bit uneven , enjoyed it overall , the audience
sing-along (in the extras) had me tearing up a
bit , hope they do XI

It wasn't essential viewing, but I'm glad they made another series, and did watch it all without not wanting to

I thought X was better than the "Return to Earth" specials they did awhile a go.

I really enjoyed the books when I read them back in the 90s - they gave a good cinematic sense of the scale of ship (if that's possible with the written word) and the sci-fi concepts (such as Earth being used as a a planet sized waste tip for the rest of the galaxy. Wouldn't mind reading them again some time.
