Andy Partridge throws away songs that a lot of other artists would kill for.

Granville wrote: Andy Partridge throws away songs that a lot of other artists would kill for. A lot of them are songs written for & rejected by other artists. I particularly love the 3 songs he wrote for James & The Giant peach, before they gave the gig to Randy Newman. again. I mean I like Randy but give Andy a chance, eh? Where did you get it so cheap btw? http://www.ape.uk.net/acatalog/index.html

I wonder if "Orpheus the Lowdown " by Andy P. and another bloke is a good record? Great art cover, by the way. Anyone can help me on this?

Carlos wrote: I wonder if "Orpheus the Lowdown " by Andy P. and another bloke is a good record? Great art cover, by the way. Anyone can help me on this? It's certainly not much like anything else! It's a series of Blegvad's musings and updatings of the Orpheus legend set to eerily beautiful soundscapes and featuring such strange ideas as ghosts feeding on noun-verbs. If you haven't come across Peter Blegvad before by the way he's one of those maddening people who is far too good at far too many things. Not content with having played guitar and sax with Slapp Happy & Henry Cow etc, he also contributes wonderful 5 minute eccentricities to the Saturday night Radio 3 show The Verb, and drew the cartoon Leviathan for many years for the Independent. The package itself looks great - it's a dvd sized digipack with artwork and lyrics inside. I've got a feeling - though I may be wrong on this - that there's only 1,000 of them. Hello everyone by the way!
