Never got it with Television meself either. But the Beach Boys.....I detested them until someone played me 'Surf's Up' and from that point on it all kind of made sense.
I am fond of 'Pet Sounds', but like 'Sgt Pepper' i've just heard it too much & now all the meaning has gone. 'Surf's Up' is still THE ONE when it comes to the Beach Boys however.
