Fake rock bands like Guns n Roses, U2, Green Day etc obviously>> I don't think GN'FN'R deserves to be mentioned with the other two. At least not in the Appetite days.. Mike

I found this site looking for 'psychedelic rock reviews' on google and didn't hear any Cope music until I got 'Kilimanjaro' by the Teardrop Explodes and I didn't think much of it to be honest. I need to give it another spin though. Still haven't heard any solo JC. Mike

I was in the same boat. I always considered Cope to be some second rate syd Barret clone from the 80s until I bought KrautRock Sampler out of curiosity as I had a few Can albums. That turned me onto Neu,Harmonia etc and my respect for Cope went up in the world. Recently I have really got into Peggy Suicide and the first Brain Donor lp. Not sure I will buy much more of his stuff as there is definitely records from the 80s like 'world shut yer mouth' etc that don't exacly light a fire under me tree

Lord Lucan wrote: Beach Boys - Pet Sounds (well, pretty much anything by The Beach Boys, if I'm honest, but particularly this one. How some people can hear this as the best album ever made is utterly beyond me.) Television - Marquee Moon Never got it with Television meself either. But the Beach Boys.....I detested them until someone played me 'Surf's Up' and from that point on it all kind of made sense. I am fond of 'Pet Sounds', but like 'Sgt Pepper' i've just heard it too much & now all the meaning has gone. 'Surf's Up' is still THE ONE when it comes to the Beach Boys however.
