Well, London gets a lot of bashing, but I just thought I'd list a few of the advantages of it...

- Great social life. Easy access to a wide variety of bars/pubs/venues catering to all tastes.
- Cultural melting pot. Loads of different cultures living here, bringing lots of diversity.
- Great place for the arts.
- Good access to the rest of the country.
- Very green city in spring/summer.
- Good transport links, so great for non-drivers like me.
- Difficult to be bored here.
- Great for shopping.
- Pace of life is fast and frenetic, and it's a bit 'edgy' (a disadvantage in a lot of people's minds, but I love that aspect of it)
- It's easy to become a naturalised Londoner. Live here for three years or so and you can call yourself a Londoner without people thinking you're being ridiculous.
- Supposedly unfriendly city. Not once you've lived here a while and have a network of friends.
- Has a seaside suburb called Brighton.

Of course there are disadvantages. Some of which...

- You might get bombed to death.
- Expensive place to live.
- Winter can be grim, but then it can anywhere.
- Pollution.
- Everyone who lives anywhere else in the UK hates it and its residents.
