Haven't read all the other replies, so not sure what's already been said... It is often said that Grobschnitt's best moment is the LP Rockpommel's Land, though for me this is my least favourite of the ones I've heard.
The best starter for lovers of cosmic prog is the 2-LP Ballermann, closely followed by Solar Music Live (the track Solar Music being the lengthy highlight of Ballermann). The self-titled debut is good prog but maybe not as likely to be liked as Ballermann; Jumbo is more commercial but I find it a nice fun album to listen to. Rockpommel's Land is like a weak sub-Yes, anonymous-sounding prog concept album with few moments that are worthwhile at all, though I'm sure some people would disagree.
