I used to love The Ruts. They were the first punk band I got into as I was a bit too young in '76/'77 to get into The Pistols or The Clash. They were by far the best of the second wave of Punk bands. I must get a CD compilation of theirs. Love In Vain (Love In Vein), It Was Cold, Jah War, West One (Shine On Me), In A Rut, Babylon's Burning, Secret Soldiers are all classics.

I once went to an all day punk event at Goldsmiths Tavern in New Cross. Twelve hours of bands. Every one of them did a cover of Babylon's Burning. I hope it was planned.

There's a decent compilation available called Something That I Said, which is often quite cheap on the net. Worth a go, though I could always copy it for you.
