Who was Eat? Nat?

Oh ye godlings, I just googled Belch Pop Frenzy and found that they played as recently as 2004. After 10 years since I saw them this has come as a shock. It's like finding that you missed the MC5 performing because you thought they would never play again.

Gutted.

Oh and New Math. Were known for "Die Trying" and "They Walk Among You", and their Kenneth Anger tribute "Invocation Of My Demon Brother", which would've made a great soundtrack for that film... Later became the Jet Black Berries, and some former members are now playing in a gay-oriented band called the Atomic Swindlers or something...

Eat - were a band out about the same time as the Stuffies etc. NEVER quite made it, but did play the 2nd Stage at Glastonbury the same year as Teenage Fanclub and Belly... Steve hated them, think that's why I loved them so much!! The singer got all his clothes off and ran round the stage naked!! Steve hated them even more after that! ;o) Can't for the life of me remember what their album was called, but I have it and a couple of singles... will dig them out....

Their singer, Ange formed a band with three Stuffies called Weknowwhereyoulive. Dreadful name. But I have a few things on tape that was utterly brilliant.

Yes. Greg Prevost still works at the House Of Guitars (Armand Schaubroeck's store.) He still wears 60s clothes and Clockwork Orange-style mascara...

I could probably toss in another handful of other names as well as it truly was a glorious era for Boston music
