Ah - you missed my moment of glory! Jowe's songs were "Salvador Dali's Garden Party", "Grocers Daughter" (which Jowe hadn't heard in years) and "She Could Stop Traffic", which merged into "heroes", and briefly during that, Dan sang "Anarchy In The UK". If you come to the Pleasure Unit on Sep 7th - come up and make yourself known!

Their cover of 'Gimme Some Truth' was good. I think I've seen a Billy Idol concert in the UK advertised somewhere recently... No intention of going to that one. Just thought I'd mention it!

'How dare you!' ;o) Have got to disagree. The Only Ones still do it for me... 'Someone Who Cares', 'Flowers Die', 'The Beast'... all classics.

Dexys' 1st album (I really should get around to buying it one day soon.) Even at the time I thought they were contrived shit but man, how that 1st album makes you wanna jump up and down. Just about everything since by Rowlands has sucked big fat ones!

Rubbish track, great act surely! I was a tad disappointed with her last album 'Whisky Tango Ghosts'. I'll have to give it another airing soon(ish) and see if there's anything on there I can grow to love.

Didn't Mojo do a review of Essex's lp's and sugget they are really quite 'out there' in terms of popular 70's superstars? Sparks spring to mind with their string of hit singles and weird as fuck albums.

Dunno about what Mojo said, but I liked the first 2 Essex albums a lot at the time - even the version of the Cornflake son... Altogether now... "Let the sun come into your life Bring in the sun" Sparks weren't just great then. They're great again...

Of course I meant the Cornflake song, though the Cornflake Son is a better name for a singer than Badly Drawn Boy ; )
