I've only ever been to Bristol once and that was back in June when i stayed at a backpackers place near the centre (i think) and i was about a 10 mins walk away from Stokes Croft.
Is the Thekla far from here?

If you mean the backpackers place by the docks and Arnolfini, that's a two minute walk to The Thekla.

Not much open after 3am. Could try "Toasties" in St Pauls or "The Star and Garter" St Pauls/ Montpellier border often do a late lock in.
Remember not to pronounce Montpellier the way the French do - you will be easily identified as a stranger, student, or yuppie incomer, all of which are bad things to be in that area late at night!
Perhaps a 10 mile drive out to Stanton Drew stone circle would be in order instead.
