but to be fair, they lost the plot completely on giant for a day (1978). that was the most pathetic record they ever made.

curiously, their last studio album Civilian (1980) was actually good. and kind of good for the time period too, being a bit more rocky...of course, no new wave kids were going to buy Gentle Giant, so that was the end of that.
