I went to that too. It was just like listening to the CD. In fact I couldn't tell the difference, which did make me think 'what was the point in that then'. Very dull. Haven't bought a DS record since. Still like Gone To Earth though.

I always preferred Japan when they were a slightly hapless bunch of glam rock misfits...I still think Adolescent Sex is their best album by far.

Adolescent Sex (the song) is about the only thing of theirs that deserves to be remembered IMO. Bloody great song, where the hell did they pull that from?

It seems as though Mr Cope has been 'un-issued'.
I can only get a handful of his stuff in music shops.
I dont have a credit card so I cant get them online.
Is he making a statement about the industry by doing this, or is he very smart and keeping all the dosh from the record companies?
Either way, it isnt helping him spread to an audience that doesnt know him, by not letting the average music buying person who is flicking through CDs and thinking, 'Hey this looks interesting!'

Hmmm, interesting. It probably makes more sense for Julian to sell CDs directly to his existing suporters/fans (at gigs and via HH) and then using word of mouth to spread interest to new people. That way he probably gets a larger financial return for shifting fewer CDs than if he had a large distribution deal with a record company but only received the paltry royalties they pay their artists.

I think its a good thing really, I'm with Chuck D on this one. Death to the record companies!

I suppose you are right, but what about people that don't live there?
I am in Australia and never get the opportunity to see him here or buy CDs from his gigs...
