I feel bad it was all found out! It was so dead-on funny and I didn't even care if I WAS a Cure fan!

Actually I got the title of the Factrix retrospective wrong. It was called Artifact...

Electric bananas didn't sound like the Pretty Things did they?
The Pretty Things had already used the name for soundtrack work, presumably where the canucks took the name from?

Where's the Cale original? I haven't come across it.
I thought The Bauhaus cover of Third Uncle, an Eno original was pretty cool too. As was Lagartija Nick.

"Have you heard the Devoto/Shelley Buzzkunst album? Disappointing overall, but there's the odd great moment."

....yeah -I agree - it was very average and thought they could have come up with something better.

I remember seeing Luxuria in Manchester and Devoto appeared on stage wearing a tuxedo and pretentiously motioning the band into the first number - surrounded by dry ice. Someone shouted out 'You look like fuckin' Paul Daniels' and they had to restart the gig due the audience pissing themselves laughing.

Think the definitive versions of 'Definitive Gaze', 'Burst' are from the Peel sessions and 'Parade' sounds best on the 'Play' album.

Secondhand Daylight is such a good album.
