I was amongst this bunch and I can verify that anytime any of them tried to chat I told them to be shush (poor Squid got the brunt of this!) So it wasn't us Gov.
Never be afraid to tell people to be quiet, we all want everyone to enjoy the gig (but not at the expense of others) so I doubt people would get arsey if you ask reasonably!
I personally was enjoying the glamourous back up singers amazon and Ahab - are the two women in this world who are more gorgeous and glam?!!

Here Here Ahab.
Never a need to get nasty about someone just because you don't like the look of them!

>gasp!<
Oh deary, dear! People were actually talking in the crowd!

It was a GIG, oxford stu - where people go to socialise, listen to music, dance, have fun.....

I was part of that group in front of you and I'm really sorry we got up your nose. You ask 'Why do this?'. We did it because
1. we're friends and hadn't seen each other for while and
2. we believe gigs are places to go to socialise, listen to music, dance, have fun...

You could have
1. asked us to shut up, or
2. moved away to the other side of the room

I would've liked to have had more space to boogie, a seat for my weary legs, some airconditioning and my own personal space bubble, but -horror-of-horrors!- I had to SHARE Julian with a club mostly full of strangers as I only brought 25 friends with me. Some of them were even DRINKING!* It's disgraceful. But I put with it because I don't live on a desert island.

Welcome to the real world, stu. Irritating, ain't it?

apologies to all offended by my comments. looking back now i realise that saying that you were talking for the whole of the gig simply wasn't the case.

Can't be arsed with discussing the talking or not talking thing, I didn't notice, I was intent on enjoying myself and I did thoroughly!

Hmm not sure about having stage dancing women, I think I prefer them being in the crowd, it just opens up too much of a debate about some bloke having sexy women to glamourise his act ... play better would be my advice, just in general, rather than cater to the eye candy effect ... dunno, don't wanna open a can of worms, too busy for that

Fair enough. But if you ever notice me chatting away too much in front of you at a Cope gig, tap me on the shoulder and I'll quite happily shut the fuck up for a few minutes. I don't bite! (unless asked to. >heh<)

Hi folks,

I'm sorry to be negative but I thought it was fairly shambolic! For whatever reason, I don't think he did the songs justice, and I'd go as far to say that he completely massacred 'Fear Loves This Place'! It's all subjective I guess, but I got the impression that his heart wasn't in the performance, even though the banter was very funny. It's usually a bad sign when an artist keeps asking whether they're managing to hold it together!

Good crowd though, and I regret not making it to the pub!
