I reckon another interesting tributary would be to compile a chart of albms that only received one vote - but then maybe Fluffy Biscuit has already monopolised that one in advance.

STATUS OF THIS POLL
Dec 21, 2003, 18:14
*bump*

The last votes in this poll were cast on Tuesday; if there are no more people who want to participate, I will declare the poll closed around the middle of this week.

So far 52 HHer's have voted. There are 849 albums on the master list, 205 of which have received multiple mentions (which is why I'm thinking maybe we should shorten the list to just a Top 200 . . . comments, feedback?)

Results will probably be posted here (in short form) and more permanently (with links & stuff?) on the Screaming Secrets site.

a top 200 may be better Dog. More concise & easier to digest & discuss.

nah. 200!!!

you'll probably get a few interesting one's near the bottom. but no more if there's only 200 multiple entries - you don't want 5 = n0. 340 etc ; )

Right now there's a massive pileup at the bottom -- 173 albums tied at #425! That's basically all the single mentions from unranked lists plus all the single-mentioned albums ranked #13 from ranked lists.

So I am definitely leaning towards a Top 200 now -- unless a whole bunch more people vote.

And if it was just a Top 100 list, we'd miss a lot of the more interesting entries. Basically the top 10 are going to be the least interesting / surprising part of the list (ever heard of that record "The Velvet Underground & Nico"?)

closing the poll
Dec 21, 2003, 22:08
Since xmas is right around the corner, I should ammend that to say I'll close it after the holiday (since I won't be around the middle of this week) . . .

In other words, let's say Friday unless there is more voting.

I realize there are some people with better things to do who aren't on here every day reading every post, so might have missed this poll until now . . . ;-)
