It's Meat Loaf not Meatloaf - makes all the difference I'm sure. Still can't hold a candle to the wonderful NWOBHM band Cloven Hoof, who adopted the stage names Earth, Air, Fire and (wait for it) Water. I saw them in concert once, but by then sadly bassist Lee Payne ("Air") was the only original member left.

Joey Fuck,
Jimmy Fuck
and
Clive Fuck
This was all so that the Fuckers' single 'Sexy Roy Orbison' could read as written by "Fuck, Fuck, Fuck & Fuck". Which made me laugh a lot.

similarly I always thought David Sylvian was an unbearably pretentious name, but I suppose Japan couldn't really have got away with being fronted by Dave Batt.

Japan didn't get away with being Japan being fronted by David Sylvian. They were the worst band ever, and poncey names and poncey album titles didn't hide it at all.

..they were shite but as i recall that early album with stuff like 'Adolescent Sex' on had some heavyish riffs (well for japan that is)...
