who will entertain your moron?
Apr 03, 2003, 21:31
A journalist who's spent some time with US marines reports how many carry cameras with them for taking pictures of the Iraki corpses they encounter and take the piss out of their ‘trophies’ later on in camp.

Asked about whether they knew they were standing on the ancient ruins of Babylon, they replied: ‘who gives a shit?’. I’m sure they’d pierce them with bullets like their own native-American heritage sites are shot at. I’ve seen photos of these lard-filled soldiers as they slept and I must say I wouldn’t shed a tear if every one of them fell dead. Their faces are reported to get a sort of 'animal-like' expression as they prepare for battle. I'm sorry, but I think they're only filth if that's what they're taught in Soldier School. I'm not surprised they're quite amazed by the British army's 'professionalism' (ha!).

Besides, for each of their pompous funerals, 100 innocent women and children are left un-mourned. One bomb is reported to be being dropped in Baghdad right now every four seconds. The US spokesman has even admitted using cluster bombs in civilian areas, which are illegal, and that for me, is a clear sign of a *very debased character*.

Sooner or later, these gun-adoring lunatics will move somewhere else in the world. Shame on all those that support them. I mean, over 90% of the population in most European countries are against the war, huge DAILY demos, strikes, road-blocks, etc all in protest, I mean, even the people I thought very little of, do NOT support it.. I really find it surreal that there may be someone somewhere *in favour* of this illegal war. I feel for the first time a very strong sense of community, hugging the old and the young, the bad and the good, the pretty and the ugly, the rich and the poor. We all share a common feeling: FUCK this war (and their advocates).

As Rhiannon says, it's hard to have to share the planet with ignorant morons. The puzzling thing is why are they listened to at all????

Is there a point at which you consider a pre emptive military attack on a potential aggressor to be justified?

If there is a point at which it becomes justified, who would you suggest should sort it out?

Your comments about soldiers in the gulf are a fucking disgrace whether you agree with the conflict or not - shame on you.

"Your comments about soldiers in the gulf are a fucking disgrace whether you agree with the conflict or not - shame on you"

Which particular comments and why?

Personally I do not wish to see them wiped out, but to stand trial for the war crimes they are committing.

Having the "best army in the world" is not necessarily something the British should be proud of, but I think it's a lot better than having a bunch of "trigger happy cowboys" roaming about with a gung-ho attitude.

My view of soldiers - anyone who wants to pick up a gun and learn how to kill someone shouldn't be allowed anywhere near one!

"Is there a point at which you consider a pre emptive military attack on a potential aggressor to be justified?"

'PRE-emptive?', as in, 'do it before they do?'

NO, unless you show me a very big piece of evidence first, show me proof

'potential agressor'?

who? irak? with no evidence it is as much a potential agressor as any other country then, aren't they?

"If there is a point at which it becomes justified, who would you suggest should sort it out?"

So you reckon this war is justified?

Who do I suggest should sort it out?

Certainly not a bunch of social misfits pumped with racial hatred and ignorance. If there is an extreme fundamentalist bunch of wankers behind (the 'hawks' - what a ludicrous name) it's even worse.

"Your comments about soldiers in the gulf are a fucking disgrace whether you agree with the conflict or not - shame on you"

Am I banned from saying what kind of people they are? From saying what they do? Are you only shown clean-shaven polite generals on TV?

Taking pix of dead people for fun IS a fucking disgrace. You are supposed to be a soldier, not a monkey.

Now, you answer my questions:

do you consider this war justified? if so, where is the evidence?

do you take orders from anyone (including Bush and Rumsfeld) - even when you know they are wrong? are they, in your opinion, really 'sorting it out'?

do you really believe US marines are given the right training? I mean, yeah, lots of jumping about and bayonet-coreography but aren't they lacking in the most fundamental basics?

you're either with me or against me

Coolio, I'll have one for each room and two for the toilet!

If any of the coalition forces get found guilty of war crimes they should be lined up and stoned to death w/ these things - would make a lovely photo

to answer you
no
it's a democracy - so when a government is voted in the elctorate do so in order that it governs.
no
I know nothing about military training, neither do you by the sound of it.

Regards wishing American servicemen die in their sleep (a real possibility if that madman drops some mustard gas) is nothing but a fucking disgrace - shame on you.

Regards taking photos of the corpses of Iraqi's as trophys - you have proof or just hearsay? I find it outrageous if true but then I (and I suspect you)know nothing of the psychology of the battlefield.

How about answering my second question? you accept that pre emptive stikes may be necessary but don't tell me when - have you thought your anti war stance through?

12 years ago, when I was a humble Discourse Analysis student, after the first Gulf War we were analysing the "We are brave liberators, They are cowardly terrorists" rhetoric, and it felt like we were secret questers of the Holy Grail

outside our four walls, barely no-one knew of our findings

these days, everyone is at it, as soon as it happens. http://www.guilfin.net/reports/?id=rwINET2033

Moronic donkeys like jazz will always be with us, blindly following the Flag, but the rest of us are getting smarter. Hopefully all the jazzes of this world will eventually get themselves slaughtered, and the rest of us can benefit from natural selection

though experience tells me that the most ferocious warriors are not to be found in the thick of battle, but walking past peace stalls in town high streets. We urge them to take the army recruitment literature we now keep handy, and do the job themselves, but the worms always refuse

Our Boys have lots of armour, food, water and air back up they need. It's the poor sods they're attacking, murdering and starving I feel sorry for. Good old Sir Galahad and the humanitarian aid - except you need 32 of those *A DAY* to restore aid levels to their pre-war levels

Jazz - don't you realise? Iraq is a country gripped by poverty. We are the richest nations on the earth, armed to the teeth, and throwing away more food a day than Iraq has to feed itself with

It's a shameful time ...

Jazz,

AQ is a stupid Iberian. Pay no attention.

I do know a little of military psychology, just enough from my family to keep me out

here's the truth. the "professionalism" in the military means "doing a good job" (like anywhere else), which in practice means bringing as much violence to the battlefield as possible. Which means killing people very efficiently. Which means psychologically removing the enemy as a fellow human being

soldiers on active service are horrible people, ruthlessly killing. Afterwards, if they get back unscathed, they start to think about what they have done ...

horrible

And the $80bn war fund could solve a lot of the world's problems in a peaceful, truly humanitarian way and make the USofA look like a really nice bunch of caring people. Except that there would be no profit in that, which is what this war is truly about.
