A dinner and some opinions why Nick Paget-Brown attended.

North Kensington Council had no record of Nick Paget-Brown attending a MIPIM dinner at the Belvedere Restaurant as a guest of MIPIM in 2015.
North Kensington Council say he was not attending in an official capacity as Council Leader.

"With largescale ‘regeneration’ either planned or already underway in RBKC lucrative business opportunities exist with the potential for massive profits to be made from the Council’s property portfolio. Any matters relating to the sale and development of Council land should therefore be fully open and transparent and not conducted at private lunches or dinners, paid for by property market movers and shakers, at posh restaurants in Kensington, or anywhere else for that matter!"

On BBC News this lunchtime Nick Paget-Brown had this to say.

"There was a refurbishment at Grenfell, we are refurbishing many of our 1960s and 1970s estates, the idea being to improve the heating and hot water systems, to install better windows, improve the insulation, make them more energy efficient, new cladding on the outside. We will clearly need to examine that and look ay what was done and what standards were applied, and if they were followed and met. I think there are issues about towers and residential towers, and how they are refurbished and what measures are in place to evacuate the building. We will need to have a look at all of that."
