You can't help wondering if Lloyds are using Brexit as an excuse for drastically downsizing - as Captain Scarlet pointed out, it had already been on the cards. Things have been difficult for Lloyds since the banking crisis a few years back - I had banked with Lloyds all my adult life and considered myself a 'loyal' customer. About three years ago they decided to transfer my account to TSB (based on my sort code). I had no say whatever in this other than to open a new account. I didn't do that but went to a different bank completely. They are all moving to mobile phone and internet banking now though I will only go down that road when there are no other options left.
