One thing I do think about when these things happen is that people immediately bring religion into things. This person, according to all sources, including his neighbours say that he wasn't interested in religion, drank alcohol amongst many other things, he was also a french national. The problem with these things is that if this person was white then religion wouldn't even be mentioned.
