Calling All Londoners!
May 03, 2016, 09:32
That also means just about anybody who has ever been in London before, or even knows anybody who lives here.

Greater London Authority Elections. Election of the Mayor of London. Thursday 5 May 2016.

Now, I'm not a great fan of Sadiq Khan, but he has to better than what the scum sucking Tories have given us over the last few years, in what is essentially a Labour city. This is a HUGE election. And I'm not even a big Labour Party supporter. Enough of one though!

Vote Labour, and get these Tory fuckers OUT OF OUR CITY!

I strategically voted the last time round and still feel dirty. As long as we posit our voting as against what we don't want, we'll never get what we do. Only what we deserve

London politics is totally different from anywhere else. Not being snoopy, but have you lived here? I truly believe that the Boris era has gone in London, because he wants to be PM. What Ken Livingstone said was not wrong about Zionism. Zionism is a Jewish dream (Israel) and not anti-semitic at all. Ken was standing up for Palestinians, who are being treated like dirt.

Jeremy Corbyn obviously does not read historical theistics!

And round about the time when most Londoners would have Ken Livingstone as a good neighbour or even Mayor. Most of us have respect for Ken. Corbyn fears him.

So he sacked him!

We need to get the Tories out. So what if it's the lesser of two evils, and right now that is not a comparison. If it takes a coalition, then so be it. The Tories are destroying our countries, Scotland, England, Ireland and Wales, and to quote Elvis Costello -

"I am fucking sick of what is happening in this country".

No wonder why Scotland is driving for Indy.

Has Ken been sacked? He was suspended pending investigation, which will clear him. What he was referring to was the Haavara agreement and is in many respects true what he said.

I hope anyone wins apart from goldsmith or golding. I'm not a fan of Khan but would love to ee him win just to see britain first frothing at the mouth

Not sacked, but in political terms it amounts to the same thing. Corbyn doesn't know who he's dealing with. Ken is so respected in London. He did alot for us. And still will. Political wilderness..or not!

Corbyn is losing votes as we speak. What an idiot!

My emails to The London Labour Party shall be strong. They send me enough shit!

Where is this 'losing votes' coming from? I've seen no evidence to support that apart from a rehashed article in the telegraph which only showed Labour and no comparison to other parties whatsoever! Seems some people in Labour just want him to lose and shackle us with another 5 years of toryism! However, what people seem to be forgetting is that polls are generally based on 1000 people and Labour, under Corbyn is now the biggest party in the country!

They may have lost some votes from the blairite brigade but with a vast sway of new voters on the results will decide. To say he's losing votes before the election is quite honestly just not convincing anyone!

Suspension is in no way the same as a sacking and didn't Ken retire from politics in 2012?

Ken never retired from politics, even when he lost to Boris. He just didn't stay at home looking after his newts! It's in his blood to fight for Londoners of all races, colours or creed. You might not see it in the media outside London though. We miss Ken every day. Rich idiots voted for Boris, and guess what? London isn't that rich anymore. It has money, all hidden, but not for the likes of me and you, or my neighbour on benefits, or some cunt up the street on drugs or the for the homeless or the mad.

And to answer you question in a roundabout way, Corbyn is losing votes from people like me, who keep London alive - Public service workers, Tube drivers, shop workers etc. There is a myth that The City of London financial institutions keep London going. That is all bollocks. The combined wealth of your average worker in any city far outweighs any bank.

Was it Tony Benn who said "We are the many, and they are the few".

Zac Goldsmith? A multi-millionaire. Hardly a man of the people.

Rents are extortianate in London. I mean really. Even in the suburbs. The workimg classes and the middle classes can't afford to live here anymore. The rich think that's a good idea in the short term. Cheap wages. What is happening is that people will move to other cities, or the countyside. Cities will get lost due to the rich, the countryside gets polluted, and then we all die!

Sounds great!

It stinks!

Goldsmith isn't going to win, and yes as has been said above the lesser of two evils is still an evil, but it's still toppling the tories, which is what the vast majority of people in this country want.

With more unions rejoining with Labour under Corbyn I'm not really seeing where you're coming from there as he's been the one standing with support of the disadvantaged, the unions and the people in general. Under Corbyn a number of unions have reaffiliated with them too! I know a lot of people in London and they all support Corbyn, and I mix with a very diverse community. Maybe you just don't like Corbyn?

There has been no more or less union affiliation. That's figures and seeking out members. The party membership has been inflated. I like Corbyn. Christ, as a Unison member I voted for him. The Party needs him. He's shooting himself in the foot though due to abstaining in important social legislation on various occasions. That's why The Labour Party have let me down. The front bench is weak. I believe in Scottish Nationalism. Corbyn says he's a socialist, yet he won't support us.

Good for England, Wales, NI possibly...but bad for Scotland. The Labour Party in Scotland is an absolute shambles. They have been toothless. The Labour Party in London have some teeth, and we fucking better use it properly, or Keir Hardie will turn in his grave.

Thing is there's no reason for Corbyn to support Scottish Nationalism, quite honestly the SNP have been a pain in the arse for Labour since 1979. Corbyn is a socialist, which is almost a polar opposite from Nationalism, which I see as more right wing than left.

If you look at 'New Labour' voting, who abstained on pretty much everything then Corbyn's record is actually very good. I believe the current party membership is approximately half a million, which whether you agree or not with the figures they are still the largest party in the UK by a very wide margin!

As for Unions the FBU and PCS are two very large unions that have rejoined Labour under Corbyn more will follow.

The Labour Party in the UK will be allowed to use it's teeth when people stop undermining the leadership that actually stand for what the Labour party was created to do in the first place.
