There are elements that I think miss the point slightly in that none of this is new in ideological terms it's just centuries of greed-is-good (with a 35 years or so interruption post war) reaching its zenith / nadir with a bunch of sociopaths putting their foot on the accelerator of wealth redistribution to restore what they would see as the logical natural order. To them 1946-80 is the blip. This is what I think is widely misunderstood.

On a related subject Varoufakis hit two bulls eyes last night on Question Time. This one and the issue of us having got lazy about supporting our greatest innovations - the NHS and the universities.
