On an uplifting note, the Bake Off leaves me feeling curiously happy & optimistic; apart from the obviously twatty one who I shan't name. Cue the backlash :)
My kids say that too. I have never watched it mainly because 8pm on a Wednesday I am likely to be either at football or watching football.
I only know Hardy from radio plays, tv series and movies. He is one of those writers like Tolstoy that I have ear marked for my retirement.
Oh never mind retirement Ian, you should start now there's a lot to go at & life's too short:)
This is true. I am lucky to get 5 hours of book reading time in per week at the moment. Hardy is someone I think you need to sit down and spend two or three hours with at a stretch. I watch too much tv and listen to too much music that I know is not essential. If I gave up watching sport I could get through all of Hardy in a month or two!
