Trolls don't last long here. I think they get bored with us quickly so don't even sweat the guy. Heck ive been accused of being anti-Semite ,racist against blacks, a homophobe, anti-Christian , anti Muslim, anti atheist, anti peace , anti war just to name a few not by Trolls but by regulars here over the years! ya gotta just be like a duck and let it roll of yer back man. you know who you are, stick to what you believe while keeping your mind open. And most of all respect the right of every man, woman and child to live in a world without fear of persecution for going against the grain,no matter what it takes to protect those rights. and fuck those who disagree.

Yes, but sometimes they go away and then come back later under a new username. I'm fairly well convinced that this is the case with dhajjieboy. Just tap "dodge one" into the search engine and you'll see what I'm getting at. Same writing style. Same belligerent demeanour. Same habit of searching other people's post histories and using their own quotes against them in subsequent arguments. Now all we need to do is sit back and accuse us of a) getting caught up in this shit because - unlike him - we have threadbare offline lives and b) accusing us of being anti-American.

And for the record - I like what I've heard of Cat Stevens (which isn't much, admittedly). "Tea For the Tillerman" is a pretty solid album with a couple of stone-cold classic. Can't condone what he said about Rushdie though.

Yup. The same paragraph structures. Occasional use of block caps - usage of previous comments quotes etc. It's him. Hello Dodge One! Please play nice.

I used to love Cat Steven's music. I was a bit underwhelmed by pieces from his recent 'mother Cup' as Yusuf, though. When politics and religion get mixed together it becomes neither, really.

Well now that his has blown over, I might as well say I haven't forgiven him for the Rushdie-fatwa thing, and the fact that he's not discussing it with the press anymore, well... I don't think I was much into him in the first place anyhow.

I think he(cat stevens) was introduced to Islam at a point in his life where he was desperate to find a meaning in life other then what he had. I think his motives for joining the cult of Islam were similar to the many who join the cult of scientology and just like scientology proponent Tom Cruise he was brainwashed into radical thought.the only difference in my eyes is scientology isn't about blowing yourself up where in extreme Islam its an honor to do so. Either way groups that fuck with your mind, be it organized religion or A.A. are dangerous especially to those who are weak minded or looking acceptance.

Well Cat has yet to blow himself up in a crowd of people... Maybe because he thinks he's too famous musically to do anything of that sort? I don't think it matters, I just don't get how he's still popular after all that. I can't think of anything more cringe-inducing than "Peace Train", especially the version 10,000 Maniacs did in the 80s.

Without wishing to start another fued, Islam and the Muslim faith is not a cult, it's a proper religion. The overwhelming majority of Muslims in the world are peace loving people. There are many issues I don't agree with Muslims about (and also with other religions and belief systems), but the right to practice one's faith is not one of them. People can find 'a meaning in life' in all sorts of ways, be it various religions/idologies, politics or even swimming with dolphins! As for brainwashing, most religions can be guilty of that. I was raised as a Roman Catholic. Do you really think at 7 or 8 years old I could make a rational choice and a philisophical knowing at my first Holy Communion at the so called existence of a Christian god? I'm glad to say when I got a bit older I made the choice to be an atheist.

to say Islam is not a cult by virtue of numbers is not a valid point sorry. and I did include all organized religions in my statement that would include groups like the Vatican as well as non specific religious groups like promise keepers or Al anon.youre not going to find argument with me on the topic as other than the what you consider to be a cult by definition we're pretty much on the same page(seems like every thread is turning into the debate club )

He does represent the best we can aspire to be. His whole life is a positive force for good. No 'revolutionary' antics either.
