If oil is the core root of the planet's problems and there's so many human beings whingeing about the price of oil then all this goes to show how extremely selfish our species is in today's cultural framework.

In that case, the longer this continues the sooner the planet will decide to get rid of a few of us (if not most or all) and continue her peaceful billion year existence. It is not the burning forests that I am concerned about, it is the meaning of "rational", "civilised", "thinking" when describing my species, the homo "sapiens".
