Yes its a real shame he's gone, he was an incredibly important figure in social and welfare policy.

The tribute on the news last night showed a clip of him with Tony Blair. The look of disdain and despair on Alfs face while he watched Tony pontificating made me smile. Another one of the genuine politicians has left us.
