http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-18622907 Here we go again... What a bunch of self-serving rotters these people are. Wasn't it current* Barclays chief Bob Diamond that boo-hooed after the 2007-08 crash and moaned that we, the horrid people, should let it go and stop being so mean to the poor, beleaguered bankers? Funny, cos I've recently read three books on modern finance; two dealing with the recent crash and one about the demise of 'Long Term Capital Management', a US Hedge Fund, in the late 90s'. Although they come at the subject matter from different viewpoints and with differing principle 'players', three words that crop up time and again when reading about this stuff are "Greed", "Hubris" and "Arrogance". *The Job Centre's that way Bob! EDIT - Here from Bob, Jan 2011 “There was a period of remorse and apology for banks. I think that period needs to be over,” Think your credit's just run out Bob.

Yes! Made me smile! I see the Chairman has fallen on his sword so Bob may live to shite another day.

Heh! I see know that Diamond Bob has indeed flown, albeit apparently with non-too subtle hints from Mervyn King & the FSA. Doesn't 'do' contrite though, does he? Ah...the by now familiar creak of the the lid of another can of worms opening.
