USuk sham democracies

I'm still listening to the UK parliamentary debate over Iraq that has been going on since 11 am.
I've been very surprised that most MPs seem to understand the real issues involved, which is presumably why they have been denied the right to vote. The Government always complains of increasing voter apathy.

Why should we vote for MPs who aren't allowed to vote on this most important of issues?
