It's truly depressing that plans are afoot to up the fees at the OU.

Don't want people thinking for themselves though do we. Especially the rabble. Better make them think higher education's a waste of time, or make it too expensive for the likes of them. Oh and close those public libraries while you're at it, and turn up the X factor. You can't expect the OU to be treated differently from the rest of the universities. I mean none of them has to charge the full rate you know. It is up to them.
Anything decent and civilised in this country is being systematically dismantled if you ask me.

Back in the Eighties my Mum did an OU course. Free. Those were the days.
Then she did a degree course at the old Bolton Institute. Free.
It gave her something to focus on after she threw my Dad out, kept her positive and she became a great role model for me and my younger sister.
OU RIP, no doubt.
