Eight women who had relationships with five undercover cops are suing the police. It includes two cops not named before, and three who had relationships with Mark Kenedy, who's always said he only had sex with two activists.
It's brilliant how they've done it - no splashing themselves across the press for money, no going for their predatory cops individually.
Instead, by going anonymously they emphasise the way the cops invaded their personal lives; by going collectively they demolish the lie that relationships were forbidden and Kennedy was one rogue officer; and by suing the Met as an institution they go for the real villains and maximise the chance of having real impact on policing of activists.
A superb, dignified, principled and brave stand.
