The cracks are showing...

The usual opinionated crap from the Daily Heil, but if this is what tories are thinking of the deputy PM they're sharing power with, then we could be in for a breakdown of the coalition, perhaps:

"A petulant and sulking Nick Clegg –the Madame Fifi of British politics – could not bring himself to attend the Commons this week to listen to the Prime Minister’s statement on the historic use of Britain’s EU veto.

However, we now discover the Deputy Prime Minister – and three of his Liberal Democrat Cabinet colleagues – could find time for talks with a shadowy City PR man called Roland Rudd.

Disturbingly, the purpose of their meeting was to treacherously plot to undermine David Cameron’s stand against Franco/German plans to impose a damaging tax on the City of London.

As we reveal today, this cabal was intending to coax business leaders into signing an open letter – risibly described as ‘non-party political’ – demanding the Government ‘re-engages’ with Brussels."

...and its replacement by an undiluted Tory government with a stronger majority than before thanks to Cameron cleverly exploiting the latent Europhobia felt by a fair proportion of marginal voters. Nothing to be particularly optimistic about IMO. The biggest loser in this game will be Clegg.
