This is really going to encourage international donations next time they have an earthquake over there, isn't it? It's mildly re-assuring to know we're not the only country run by a government that doesn't give a shit about the welfare of its own people.

Remember your economic power - "made in japan?" etc. I am now very selective about source of goods I buy...not easy, but japan, china and israel are very much in my sights for a variety of reasons of personal concern.
