Re: have a nice trip?

Hello again Mare-C and co!

Phew...there sure is a lot going on here ain't there? I really appreciate everybody's wisdom, candour and wit addressing the issues under discussion here.
Mare-C, I was appalled to hear about your GP's attitude to your plight. That smacks (pardon the pun) of wilfull ignorance and prejudice to me. I have a friend (mentioned in earlier posts) that has done an awful lot of research into drugs, and particulary hallucinogens. There is very little evidence to suggest that there is such a thing as "acid flashbacks" as often described by hysterical "factual" articles on drugs. Okay, we have established that things affect people in different ways. But...and here's where it get's a bit Mulderish; it has been suggested that the notion of "flashbacks" plus things like people jumping off buildings in the notion that they could fly, actually results from the US Government putting these ideas about in the late 60's early 70's in order to discourage the use of drugs and hallucinogens in particular. Personally I have never come across anyone (and we're talking a lot of people over the years) that has had a "flashback" as it is traditionally regarded. There is very little reliable documentation of such experiences either. Certainly I believe that some folks may experience things brought on by their own psychosis, but the LSD as "flashback" fodder is an idea with scant evidence to give it creedence. File under urban myth?
Glad to hear that you are happier with the acceptance of your problems. I too enjoy things a lot more now that I can recognise the things and issues that have had negative effects on me.
Bless (:-])
