Boyling's boss at the time was Bob Lambert. beofre he ran the undercover deployments, he was one himself in the 1980s. In that time he too was prosecuted under his false identity. The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, etc.

Lambert infiltrated London Greenpeace, they of the What's Wrong With McDonald's leaflets. He had a long term girlfriend under his alias. He even had her flat raided by his colleagues at Special Branch in order to make him seem like a serious activist.

But remember kids, Mark Kennedy was a rogue officer who'd strayed off mission.
