Taxes and Social Services
Sep 24, 2011, 13:45
Twenty to thirty years ago the conservative government told us that a reduction is taxes would not result in a reduction in Social Services/NHS etc. So Thatchers (I blame her and all the greedy bastards at the top of the tree for the current situation) government cut taxes. Thirty years later we are paying the price. You can bet Thatcher and her cronies are not suffering. The previous labour government borrowed huge amounts in order to fund social services to the levels we’d come to expect but did not raise taxes in order to help balance the books. They were complicit in the whole mess and are far from blameless. The current government are not cutting too much too soon. The result may well be very painful, but yet again those at the top will not suffer.

You only get what you pay and vote for.

Anyway that’s how I see it
