Didn't the tories, going back as far as Thatcher, tell us that cutting taxes would not result in a cut in public services? Didn't labour agree? Didn't labour put the country in massive debt in order to finance public services? Would it not have been better if we all paid a little more in taxes to help finance public services? Weren't the only ones to really benefit from that tax cuts the wealthiest? How many of us were bribed by the thought of an extra few pounds in our pay packets? Did we not get the government we deserve and voted for?
