I appreciate this might not chime with all here but.....
.....Am I alone in feeling that the actions of a few hundred in trashing windows, liberating tea from Fortnum and Masons etc did a huge disservice to the thousands trying to make a serious stance against the iniquitous policies being pursued by the current government?
All I'm seeing and hearing today is the media decrying their actions, calls for greater police powers, threat to peaceful protest etc etc - absolutely nothing about the issues that moved so many people to march?
I know our "direct action" colleagues are somewhat revered in these parts but I (worryingly I'll admit) find myself siding with one editorial leader that described their actions on Saturday as "a self-indulgent betrayal of those they claimed to represent".
PS As those on this site who have met me will testify I am NOT Geoffrey Prime
