I read an intesting - and alarming - article in the paper the other day:


...about biotech corn being grown in Iowa. Apparently one of the (not too surprising) problems they're encountering is that the corn's pollen drifts to other plants - in this case milkweed - and kills other unintended insect larvae. Certainly this is what people have been warning against, but it's nice to see that some real research is being done on it. Hopefully that will wake up some government regulators over here. Unfortunately, I suppose most people won't get too upset about insects dying - but if it ruined their lawns, that'd be a problem!
