So they want to create a national holiday "akin to St. Andrew's day in Scotland"? Wouldn't that be St. George's day on April 23rd? If so, why not keep the holiday on May 1st?

Honestly, the Celts left us the beautiful, evocative, festival of 'Beltane'. What might we bequeath to future generations? 'UK Day'. The day a Tory think-tank sacrificed our poetic imagination to Moloch.
