Cheers for posting that Mr Seacat. Quite clearly an extraordinary and brave man. Particularly the part when he daid he wasn't the victim, the real victim was the students and people like Alfie Meadows. Thank goodness for people like that who are prepared to speak up and protest so the rest of us can learn the real story.

Kinnell, that BBC interview is the best student one I've seen yet. Just superb. Not dodging questions yet sticking to the real point, undoing the media bullshit but not making them the main focus, talking about the issue but also the role of the police; clear, articulate, definite. What a fuckin dude. You know you're doing something very right when you get a personal attack off Richard Littlejohn http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1338336/Stockholm-suicide-bomber-Why-Luton-training-ground.html

This excellent article extrapolates this dreadful incident into a frighteningly accurate reflection of this unelected coalition's disgraceful attitude to the vulnerable and disabled in general. There is no exageration, sadly. I am witnessing it myself. I have worked in the charity sector for 12 years now, including mental health and learning disabilities, and presently on a relief shift basis for a Housing Association providing temporary accommodation and support for the homeless community, many of whom have various health/disabilty needs . If the average person could actually witness what is beginning to happen they would be horrified, and it will get much worse. It is yet another moral outrage, encouraged and supported by the right wing section of the media's constant depiction of disabled benfit claimants as suspect fraudsters and a burden. It's sickening. http://www.newstatesman.com/blogs/laurie-penny/2010/12/real-disabled-jody-mcintyre

http://content.met.police.uk/News/Investigation-into-police-involvement-with-Jody-McIntyre/1260268989354/1257246745756 Dunno if you saw this the other day. But it's alright, the police dragged him out of his wheelchair for his own good apparently. Not quite sure why they couldn't have just pushed him somewhere safer, maybe they didn't understand the concept of the wheel and thought it'd be quicker. (hitting him with a baton was 'inadvertently' done, in case you were wondering).
