Tony Blair is a lovely guy, isn't he? I mean, he's giving the proceeds from his book to charity. What a guy. Shining such a light of goodness and generosity upon the world can only have a positive effect. And so it goes that the great man has inspired the people attending his book signing in Dublin to give him eggs. And shoes. Following his example, they go home barefooted and eggless. Such humility can only be due to his greatness. Let's hope he can inspire similar acts of selfless altruism wherever he goes.

I don't really know why he wants to write the book if he ain't getting any dough. It won't help him come to terms with his failure. It is clear that my chance of becoming a Prime Minister being nil, out trumps his opportunity of achieving Prime Minister and then blowing it. He knows his life is now a void, and the Pope won't be able to fill it. I bet his radon brother George Bush sleeps better at night, because he wildly exceeded his limitations. Hitler who died cursing the German people for letting him down, had at least something to cling onto.

AHEM! ; Although a british citizen, he's not technically of Irish descent, as he has no native blood. Through his mother's side, who was actually descended from Scottish settlers in Donegal, which became part of The Reblic after Partition, he managed to cobble together four passports/citizenship for his offspring. He is, of course, a Bollox. Yours Disgusted of Drimoleague.

Re philanthropy: I was referring to the good people of Dublin, who gave their worldly goods so readily asnd happily to the great man. Blair himself of course transcends mere philanthropy.

...getting a lot of dough! That charitable donation allows him to offset up to £1.3million of personal taxation!! Now, if he donated that too... Deepinder Cheema wrote: I don't really know why he wants to write the book if he ain't getting any dough.

Everything the guy does is utterly self serving, devious and deceptive. For such a solipsistic unrepentant narcissist as him, the fall in popularity must be hard to take. I know someone whose partner was at University with him. Apparently he was not remotely interested in politics, prefering the drama society and his geetar. The consummate performer. Apparently he was utterly odious, but a social genius who could charm the pants off a cobra. I think this is rather cool: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/politics/tony-blair/7980583/Internet-campaign-launched-to-move-Tony-Blairs-book.html
