OK.

I've removed my head from my hands.

I work in facilities management. I run a division of a company. My role is to deliver hard services, namely everything structural, mechanical and electrical which makes a building function.

This is done in two ways.

1. I organise the reaction to problems. Something breaks/blows/collapses, I sort it.

2. I arrange and ensure completion of planned maintenance activity which, hopefully, and usually, negates the need for the above.

To spell it out;

1. I help people when needed, I react to crimes, I respond and deal.

2. I have a diary full of event which I must be present at. These are dictated to me by statute.

As a professional, I treat the two very differently. I also control my man power very differently.

Does that make fucking sense?

((Cue 'No'))

What is being suggested is the Police have a duel role.
