Ah it's nothing new. You only have to look at the pro-foxhunting arguments that its supporters dredge every time someone disagrees with them - some claim that most hunts never catch anything at all, whilst others insist it's the only effective form of pest control. Hypocrites and sophists, every one. If they just admitted straight out that they're motivated by bloodlust, I still wouldn't agree with them but I'd have slightly more respect.
