kinda old news,

apocaylpse focus is good for those who wouldn't have much to contribute anyway

when you don't want to deal with hard work and decisions facing you focus on the "coming end" :)

Yes and no. (OK, here goes HOD on another one of his tangents)

One of the most beautiful things I ever read was a quote from the late Reverend Howard Finster (folk artist/preacher/musician of the Talking Heads cover fame) about having a dream about the judgement day, and it wasn't some big purge of the wicked or anything like that.

He describes dreaming about fixing a bicycle (another of his callings) and suddenly knowing that it was time to quit work. Then he walks out onto the road and starts meeting up with his neighbors, all walking in the same direction, as as more and more people join them there is a feeling of great release and joy and a knowledge that all suffering and need is gone; Everyone is just one with the experience.

That's so very different from most of the very egocentric and punishment-obsessed 'end times' visions and so very like Mr. Finster's art, which is all about the hallelujah dimension.

Thats a good tangent Dave. And goes towards my way of thinking too. This thread and it's divisive LINK, just serve to illustrate and perpetuate the DIFFERENCE's between us. There is no attempt what so ever to illustrate what we have in common.
That's the real problem.
We are all heading down the same road.
Whatever the hell that is.

It is truer than any of us can comprehend that we are all much closer, no matter where in the world we hail from, than any creature that ever roamed the world.

Human beings all suffer from the same condition...We're human. We don't just experience things, we symbolize and abstract them. And that leads to all sorts of both wonderful and terrible consequences.
