I hate all these people. Bunch of corrupt, horrible bastards. Thing is a Mark Thatcher expose these days won't have half the impact it once could have. They can all go spontaneously combust. x

I just came over here to start a thread about this one. But see we've already pulled our armchairs up, ready to gleefully watch it all unravel. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/equatorialguinea/6502398/Simon-Mann-ready-to-help-prosecute-Sir-Mark-Thatcher.html If I were connected with the government of Equatorial Guinea I'd keep Simon Mann protected from any sort of unfortunate accident, whilst over in the UK.

He could have dished the dirt from prison. Written his memoirs and caused the necessary scandals. He should never have been pardoned.

Then that would achieve far less in geopolitical terms. Better for a prosecution of Scratcher that a crime is reported in the UK, as Mann is now a witness, quite clearly better for Mann as he has been released to be a witness, better for Equatorial Guinea, as they are doing a deal with South Africa, who have the refining capacity, better for South Africa as they have got rid of Thatcher. It's all pretty unsavoury stuff on a human level, mercenaries coups and wotnot - but this is a drama played out on a small stage for the control of natural resources, but gains legitimacy when it is nation upon nation under the same cloak of unpleasantness viz a viz Iraq Colonial India, etc.
