I hope you are not surprised by this. When it comes to green issues Labour have missed every single opportunity presented to them to do anything remotely green..... and return to nuclear power, replacement for Trident, new airports. Look what you've done, you've got me started again!

Difficult to make such a comparison between a mature technology and an emerging one.
Also there are conflicting funding schemes so that Scottish marine schemes (many of them will be) qualify for multiple ROCs - which is worth more than MRDF, so this is what a developer would opt for. It's a confusing situation; not what is needed to encourage investment.
Even with 5 ROCs a MWh the economics are still tough. If they allowed both (multiple ROCs + MRDF) I'm pretty sure there'd be some uptake.
Any news on the Pentland Firth scheme you mentioned a while back, Merrick?

Get the word out that Fiddlers ferry power station is a paedophile. It's full name is Kiddy Fiddler's Ferry. Then it will be attacked by a mob of self righteous chav vigilantes, and probably burned down, or at least forced to move.
