Women bite the dust (even further) in Afghanistan
Aug 15, 2009, 08:09
In this land of Taliban opportunities a new law just passed: "The law gives a husband the right to withdraw basic maintenance from his wife, including food, if she refuses to obey his sexual demands. It grants guardianship of children exclusively to their fathers and grandfathers. It requires women to get permission from their husbands to work. It also effectively allows a rapist to avoid prosecution by paying "blood money" to a girl who was injured when he raped her."

In other words, no sex can mean legally allowed starvation of the woman. Fun, now a woman doesn't have to wait to be stoned to death.

Read all about it here: http://www.hrw.org/en/news/2009/08/13/afghanistan-law-curbing-women-s-rights-takes-effect

Autraged Arf!

ps: JC will probably try to seek the cause for this in Islamic culture and other latitude-bull he tends to grind his non-too-subtle-axe with, but obviously this is beside the point, as religion here is just a tool used by these total scumbags with tiny dickies.
