Getting Rid of Toxics in the Home

I'm finally posting this; I can't believe it!! And you all will surely be grateful, I'm certain.
Some of you may already be hip to this, but for those who aren't: There is an excellent book entitled "Home Safe Home" by a woman named Debra Lynn Dadd. It is published by Jeremy P. Tarcher/Putnam in the U.S., and I'm not sure if it's available in the U.K. or not but it can be special ordered I'm sure. It is an excellent source if you're wondering how to cut down on your toxic exposure (and consequently Mother Earth's toxic exposure). It's full of sensible alternatives to all the horrible toxic shite the chemical companies have brainwashed us into believing we have to use in order to live in the modern era (otherwise known as The Age of Poisons). It's pretty comprehensive and written in a very personable, knowledgeable, unselfrighteous style. An example of one of Ms. Dadd's recommendations is using baking soda instead of deodorant: I've been doing so for months and it works great! It's better than any of the heavily advertised stuff and vastly cheaper as well. Who woulda thunk?
Maybe if we all stop buying these poisons the bastards will stop making them. This book is one of the few of which I can truly say: it belongs in EVERY household.

Thanks Razor Penguin, I don't know if it is available in the UK, but you're right, EVERYONE should be aware, and have available the resources to empower themselves with action.
A great UK link for nearly every green-issue via books is:
