Wind Farms a threat to National Security

Front page news in the Times this morning is that wind farms interfere with radar. Apparently the discovery is "alarming".

Hang on though - this isn't a new discovery. The wind industry are fully aware of it, have been for years, as have the MOD. The only thing that's alarming is that it's taken them (MOD) this long to suggest that it might be a problem. Just strategically timed last minute objections - not the first time MOD have played this hand with renewable power projects.

Interesting to see whether Gordon Brown sticks to his guns with offshore wind or falls at the first fence.
