I agree with all those points, the consequences were well known (see the secret documents kept in the museums) - it's just that the truth of the hellish horror inflicted by 'righteous countries' is too hard to swallow (and censored everywhere), so better pretend the baddies/nutters were only the nazies and the bomb saved lives in any case. Back to Dubya-esque cynical arguments again.
Anyway, the reasons behind the nuclear flop are well known. But I mean, the whole poem perhaps sounds more general, like a simple proverb against western indifference, organised cynicism and judeo-christian arrogance, a so-called rational culture that never looks inside. Heaven and hell are always outside.
